I use the phrase "holding court" advisedly, because surrounding his booth were a dozen or so folks he had entranced as he explained and used a new call he had developed. I listened for a few minutes and soon understood why. He was a superb raconteur, could call like nobody's business but most of all had an air about him that made him instantly likable. It's difficult to define personalities of that type in print, but I'll guarantee everyone knows folks of that ilk.
